To use the flash or change the flash mode, pop up the flash manually by sliding the flash switch to the left, as illustrated below.

There may be restrictions in the flash mode, or the flash may not be usable in some shooting modes.
For example, you can not select Red-eye reduction flash (Red-eye reduction flash) and Fill-in flash(Fill-in flash) when shooting in iAUTO.
To use these flash modes, set the shooting mode to another modes like P (Program Auto).

If you want to turn off the flash, press the flash down back into the camera.
