Question :
What kinds of SCN (Scene) modes are available?

Answer:
In SCN mode, you can shoot in an appropriate setting by selecting a subject or shooting scene.
Set the mode dial to SCN, and then select a sub mode from 22 modes.


When the mode dial is already set to SCN (Scene) mode, press the icon button to select other sub modes.

Note:
Camera settings are limited to maximize the effect of each Scene mode.

Light Trails
With normal long exposure, an image of light trace such as star trails with bright buildings tends to get too bright. Using Live Composite mode, you can capture such images without over exposure while checking the progress on the monitor.
Press the shutter button to start shooting. While the camera automatically shoots multiple images, you can view the changing result on the monitor. Press the shutter button again to end shooting once the desired result is achieved (maximum 3 hours).
The use of a tripod and remote control via OI.Share is recommended.

Answer:
The following table describes the approximate movie recording time with a fully charged battery:

Shooting conditions:
  • - When using a fully charged battery, repeating the maximum recording time per movie (29 min.)
    (The recording time may vary depending on the temperature or image quality.)
  • - When using a M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ lens
  • - When recording 4K movies
Note:
  • - The maximum recording time per movie is limited to 29 min.
  • - When a movie exceeds 4 GB, the movie is automatically saved and starts a separate new file.
    (The movie may be divided without exceeding 4GB depending on the shooting condition.)
  • - Use a UHS speed class rating 3 UHS-I card when shooting in 4K or High-speed movie mode.
  • - Use a speed class 10 or larger SD card when shooting in Standard or Clips movie mode.

Question :
Can I take pictures or view them in playback while connecting the camera to the TV?

Answer:
You can take pictures or view them in playback while connecting the camera to the TV using a separately sold HDMI cable.
Connect the camera to the TV using the HDMI cable and switch the TV to the appropriate input.


  • - The monitor of your camera goes off when the HDMI cable is connected.
  • - Refer to the instruction manual of the TV for instructions on how to switch the input source of the TV.
  • - The displayed images and information may become cropped depending on the settings of the TV.
  • - If the camera is connected via HDMI cable, you are able to select a signal type of the digital video.
    Press the [MENU] button. In icon (Custom Menu), select C2. Disp / icon / PC.
    You can select a desired output size in HDMI.


Available Output Size:

4K Priority is given to 4K HDMI output.
1080p Priority is given to 1080p HDMI output.
720p Priority is given to 720p HDMI output.
480p / 576p 480p / 576p HDMI output.
  • - When 4K is selected, video output in shooting mode is 1080p.
  • - HDMI output is not performed while connected to a computer or printer via USB.
Caution:
Do not connect the camera to other HDMI output devices. It may damage the camera.
